Overview

Maddie messaged me in the summer and asked me if I could help her make TikTok videos at a high-quality production level. She said that it would be for a song release that would tease her upcoming EP in the fall.

Research

With only a week to plan and little help, I put together a small team of 3 and produced, shot, and directed a 2-day film shoot. Everyone on the set had never met each other in the past, but at the end of the shoot they all became friends. Then I took the footage while on vacation and made two TikTok videos within a week, communicating with another editor and with Maddie. This style of filming was new to me as Maddie wanted to go with a retro aesthetic for the videos.

Conclusion

I learned how to use two different kinds of camcorders and VFX to make the videos look the way Maddie wanted. I also made two different cameras blend together. The outcome of this project is 6 different TikToks and extra footage/B-roll for Maddie to use in any future TikToks/Reels she makes in the future.
